Vector QR code for engraving

A QR code drawn as vectors, not a fuzzy bitmap. Set the size of one module in millimeters and the code — quiet zone included — comes out at that real size. Engrave the black modules. Leave the quiet zone empty so phones can still read it.

Exports SVG. See also Photo to laser engraving, Image to SVG trace, Engraving jig.

mm
modules
EngraveKit vector QR code Units are millimeters. Import at 100% scale into LightBurn or xTool Creative Space. Red is cut, blue is score, black is engrave.

25 modules, version 2. Finished size 19.8 × 19.8 mm including the quiet zone.

Red paths cut. Blue paths score. Black paths engrave. Import at 100% scale.

How to use it

  1. Paste a URL or a short line of text. Shorter payloads make coarser, easier modules.
  2. Use a module of at least 0.4 mm on wood. Coated metal can hold something finer. If a phone struggles, enlarge the module.
  3. Keep a quiet zone of four modules. That empty margin is part of the code.
  4. Error correction M is the usual choice. Use Q or H if the engraving will be scratched or interrupted by a hole.
  5. Import at 100% and engrave the black layer. Do not scale it afterward.

Questions

How big will the code be?

Width and height equal (modules + quiet zone × 2) × module size. The page shows that size before you download.

Can I change the colors?

The file uses black filled shapes on the engrave layer. Your laser software assigns the power. The phone only cares that the dark modules contrast with the material.

Does it support Wi-Fi or vCard payloads?

Yes, if you paste the payload text. The tool encodes whatever string you give it, up to 800 characters.
